City of The Dalles, OR

NEW:  Registration Requirement for Online Participation in City Council Meetings

In response to recent Zoom-bombing and hate speech incidents during online public meetings state-wide, the City of The Dalles is adding new protocols for online participation. As the City works to improve online public meeting security while also avoiding undue burden for public participation, these protocols will be piloted for a trial period.

City Council meetings are available for all to view live on the City’s website. https://www.thedalles.org/Live_Streaming

Those wishing to speak online at a City Council meeting must register with the City Clerk no later than 12:00 noon the day of the council meeting. Email amell@ci.the-dalles.or.us or call (541) 296-5481 ext. 1119

The following information must be provided when registering to speak:

  • First and Last Name
  • City of residence
  • Topic you will address

A Zoom link and phone number will be sent via email to those who have provided complete information by the deadline. When joining the webinar, participants are required to use the same first and last name they registered with.

The Mayor will announce the time for public comment or testimony. To keep order during the meeting participants must wait to speak until the Mayor calls upon them. Public comment is limited to three minutes per person.
